We've been waiting on this one for a long time. Back in June, site contributor Jay Alternative was sent unsolicited child porn by Pennslyvania man, Mark Travers. That's always our worst nightmare. We never want to be sent child porn. It's the situation our contributors hate the most. Immediately, Jay contacted state troopers, who moved quickly to search Traver's home and take him into custody.

Travers was charged on the child pornography and finally has pled guilty to the offense, six months later.

Hanover man pleads guilty to child pornography charges

A Hanover Township man pleaded guilty in Luzerne County Court on Wednesday to having numerous pictures of child pornography on his computer.

Mark David Traver, 43, Boland Avenue, pleaded guilty before President Judge Michael Conahan to possession of child pornography and dissemination of photos and videos.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, Traver engaged in a chat on the Internet with whom he believed was a 14-year-old boy on June 28.

The boy was actually a 37-year-old man, a volunteer with the organization, Perverted-Justice, which attempts to expose sexual predators of juveniles on the Internet.

Traver expressed a desire to engage in sexual acts with the boy and e-mailed him four nude photographs; two displayed children.

Traver told the boy he was from Wilkes-Barre and e-mailed him his telephone number.

The volunteer contacted state police at Wyoming and forwarded a transcript of the chat and the four nude pictures.
A forensic examination of Travers computer revealed numerous images and movie clips of child pornography, according to the affidavit.

Traver is scheduled to be sentenced Friday, April 15, at 8:30 a.m.

State Trooper Brian Murphy and Hanover Township police Sgt. William Sweeney investigated.

Many thanks to the speedy reaction of Pennslyvania law enforcement who got this predator off the internet quickly. Congratulations to Jay Alternative for getting a child porn peddler off the internet by being in the right place at the right time. Here's hoping that Traver gets a nice stay in a Pennslyvania jail for his sick and demented collection of child porn.
