But yes, he NEVER would have had sex with the girl, right?

There are some guys that just annoy the piss out of you when you catch them, and "Matty" Nash is one of those guys. He formed one of the weirdest, most interesting and successful alternative musical and carnival "group" that we've ever heard of. He's had many articles done on him talking about his background in music and his formation of his group that he founded and runs (with his wife), called the "Mutaytor." Link: Mutaytor.com.

And of course, the guy goes out looking for a minor to have sex with because in his words, his wife doesn't like sex anymore. Fucking loser. This is the type of guy that one would think would have almost everything going for him, but there he is out there approaching a 13 year old minor for sex. Of course, we don't know what is more pathetic, that a person like this would go out there and do that or the reaction of *some* of his friends who screamed that they'd still let him babysit their young daughters without even seeing the evidence regarding Nash. "Innocent until proven guilty" is one thing, but "innocent despite whatever the facts may be no matter what" is dangerously cult-like.

Nash's story is interesting in one respect that might not be apparent, however. His arrest was covered by all the papers in Southern California, he was named in each story that named all the other predators arrested. His band and community was not aware of this arrest until he was shown on Dateline NBC. He didn't tell them and they didn't learn about it. Just shows the importance of notification and publicity when it comes to making sure people make safe choices about who they have in their lives.

Well, as we know, Nash is not "innocent" and has pled guilty. In return, he will receive the usual "Long Beach special" of three years felony probation, community service requirements, sex offender counseling and a lifetime registration as a sex offender.

Notes from the Contributor, Duncan Hines
Matthew Nash, aka Matty "The Mutaytor" Nash, was careful. He took the time to groom 13-year-old Susie not knowing he was making a date with Perverted-Justice.

Matthew Nash a.k.a. Matty "The Mutaytor" Nash says in his publicity releases he "marches to the beat of a different drum". The 37 year old Nash heads up a drum and fire show that plays all over the country but primarily in southern California and Las Vegas areas. He plays shows where children hang out. His troupe headlines at Burning Man every year.

On Sept. 6, 2006, Nash had his drum marching into the instant message window of 13-year-old Susie. He groomed Susie for three days before making the heavy moves. He was careful, leading me to believe he's done this before. He showed classic signs of being a groomer, which means he will likely offend again.

During the Long Beach sting, Nash showed at the bust house with everything he had promised to bring for the child....baby oil, condoms and the bed sheet. And he brought her a promised surprise...a vibrator.

According to Mutaytor's forum chat, Nash's group is close-knit and he demands openess and honestly among them. Unfortunately, he failed to share with them his biggest TV appearance ever. They found out at the same time the rest of the nation did, by watching Dateline: To Catch a Predator. They were stunned as they watched the scenario unfold. Their reactions ranged from loyalty to extreme anger over being duped by Nash.

Buck Down, who writes most of their music, made this statement to the media: "Nobody saw it coming. Whatever it (Mutaytor) does from now on will be without Matty." Stage-name Crunchy, Nash's wife of 13 years, is staying on with the group as stage manager/den mom. The group has lost their manager and booking agency, and all but three shows across the country were either cancelled or pending.

Nash appeared in court on Wed. March 7, 2007, and accepted the plea offered by the district attorney.

Nash received 3 years felony probation, community service, counseling, and will spend the rest of his life as a registered sex offender. In other words, another Long Beach Special.

This is our 164th conviction since June of 2004 and our 43rd conviction for 2007 so far.
