Why do these idiots even bother going to trial? You're not going to be found innocent. We know you had the chat. The video shows you arriving after the chat. Do these guys really think a jury is going to acquit them? Or a judge, as in the Rabbi David Kaye case? Give it up!

Jeff Stacey didn't give it up but he'll now have to give up six months of his life, his personal vehicle, his money for police overtime costs, his time for sex offender counseling and his details for Ohio's sexual offender registry. Currently 9 of the 18 cases that resulted in the Dateline Darke County sting have finished with convictions. We look forward to the next nine.

    Notes from the Contributor, Wendy
Less than *four minutes* after the actually twenty-SEVEN year-old Jeff Stacey first contacted 15 year-old Sadie, I got an eyeful of sexual banter that no barely high school-aged teen should ever see. True to our PeeJ tour, Stacey sent a picture not of himself in a much cleaner, friendlier light than the man who actually showed up at our Dateline house, but a far more handsome picture of someone else entirely.

To say that Stacey was a fast-mover would be a ridiculous understatement. He planted the first seeds in the wee hours of Saturday morning, and was at our door later that evening, having said nary a word about much else than sex with my 15 year-old persona. Oddly enough, he is one of the few who attempted to take a PeeJ case to trial - and yet, like the rest of those who have, ended up with the same result: a conviction, prison time, and a slot in the Ohio sex offenders registry.

Many thanks to Detective Mike Burns and rest of the wonderful team that make up the Darke County Sheriff's Department for helping to make our Darke County Dateline sting a success, and putting predators like Jeff Stacey where they belong.

This is our 86th conviction since June of 2004 and our 46th conviction for the year 2006 thus far. An updated conviction map follows...
