Yes, the words of a middle school teacher. Once again, we report on the conviction of a male teacher that has hit us up. It is, without a doubt, the number one most frequent profession that solicits our profiles. Douglas Burns was no different. The entire chat-log is just another example of a man who sits in a classroom with children the age of our decoy likely doing more than just thinking about the student's grades.

Burns now will live with the label registered sex offender and be disallowed from being anywhere close to a school, thankfully. All predators are disturbing and disgusting, but they get a multiplier of disgust when they turn out to be educators looking at real kids the same age as those they tried to solicit for sex online.

Notes from the Contributor, Duncan Hines
Douglas Wade Burns, a 34 year old teacher and coach at an Oklahoma middle school, was convicted May 9, 2006. Burns was convicted of using the internet to try to persuade a person, whom he believed to be a 13-year-old Arkansas girl, to come to Oklahoma to meet him and have sex. After being arrested on the grounds of Hefner Middle School in 2004, Burns was extradited to Arkansas, where he posted bond.

A jury trial was scheduled for May 10. Hearings were held on May 9 at the request of the defense attorney, to try to seize the computer of the perverted-justice volunteer. That motion was denied by the judge. At that time, Burns accepted a plea agreement. Terms of the agreement require Burns to register as a sex offender, pay a $1,000 fine and he received one year unsupervised probation. Under Arkansas law, a first-time offender can have his conviction sealed after one year if he doesn't reoffend during that time.

This is our 58th conviction since June of 2004 and our eighteenth conviction for the year 2006 thus far. While we're quite displeased at the lax and to be blunt, crap sentence this predator received in Arkansas due to the plea agreement he arranged with the prosecutor, we are pleased that he will never again prowl a classroom in America.
