If that's true, you should have learned something from your "stupid ass brother." He's not the one who's currently a registered sex offender.

Gilbert Tito Sutherland Jr was arrested as part of the Riverside County, California sting in January 2006. Over 50 men showed up for that sting, and it has taken a lot of time to get all of them through the system due to a significant backlog of cases in the jurisdiction. He was found guilty of attempted lewd act with a child under 14 and attempted oral copulation with a child under 14 by a jury in late 2009. He was sentenced in February 2010 to a year in county jail and 36 months probation. The terms of his probation are extremely long, and he had to register as a sex offender.

Contributor notes from Van de Camp
This guy is a picture of arrogance. He waltzed into the bust house as if he owned the place. He walked in the door that was left open for him and started to move straight to the decoy location. Most guys at least look around all suspicious like first. This arrogance of his was also apparent at the trial. He had a constant look about him that said "I'm going to get away with this". Even after two cops testified, he still looked that way. He even rolled his eyes at them while they were on the stand.

When I got on the stand, one of the first things we did was read the chatlog into evidence. The further we got into reading the chatlog, the more that arrogant look fell off his face. It was a transformation that was amusing to watch. When confronted with your own disgusting and stupid crap, it is hard to ignore. After a few hours on the stand, I noticed that he was starting to get a bit shaky. It was good to see that smirk wiped off his face. He would not be skating on these charges after all.

He delayed this trial as long as possible. He even indicated he would take a plea agreement at the last minute and then magically decided not to do so which almost made me miss my flight to court. Now I could be assuming, but I think I am right when I say that he did it on purpose hoping I would miss the flight and court would be delayed yet again. Too bad for him that the plane I was catching did not have a gate to park at yet so I had time to literally run across the terminal to catch it. The rest is history. Good guy wins, bad guy gets to register as a sex offender for the rest of his miserable little life.

Thank you to the police that worked on the case as well as the prosecutor.

This is our 507th conviction since June of 2004, our 7th conviction for 2010, and our 129th conviction in California thus far.
